Official Bio
English: "Noon-nui! This is Shiranui Flare!"
"A half-elf who seems sloppy and undependable, however when it is time, she becomes an extremely reliable big sis.
She is basically kind of drained. Her weakness is her emotions and she cries or gets embarrassed quite easily (Just praise her!).
The fairy-like creature that looks like a panda is named “Kintsuba”."
Overview
Shiranui Flare (不知火フレア), birthday April 21st is the resident half-elf of Hololive 3rd Generation a.k.a. Hololive Fantasy. Debuting on the date August 07th, 2019 on YouTube with bilibili debut following on October 25th, 2019, Flare is one of the big sister figure in the group, and can be considered one of the most popular member among members, due to her cool and dependable personality. Flare received her first alternate outfit, that is the New Years outfit, on the date January 01st, 2020, and said outfit has become the one she uses primarily for her stream. Said outfit even received a sneaky L2D update on the date July 15, 2020.
Flare's 3D debut which was originally announced for a reveal on March 29th, 2020[3][4] was postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic (because government's discouragement of public gathering). A "re-announcement" was made on June 10th, 2020[5] to reveal her 3D and finally, Flare's 3D model debuted on the date June 13, 2020[6], with significant update to the model when compared to the one that was used in NSS.
Flare's fangroup is referred to as Elfriend (エルフレンド), a portmanteau of the world Elf and Friend.
Flare usual content is very varied, but her majority of her content can be categorized into three, namely gaming, singing, and chat stream. Flare is one of the member that consistently do game stream, albeit not to the level of hardcore gaming, and has shown a certain preference for action-type games such as Dark Souls, Devil May Cry and Sekiro among others. Flare has also displayed an impressive singing ability particularly in the numerous tone she can perform[7][8], and semi-regularly does karaoke stream, which usually includes a very diverse array of songs. Notably among the voices she can do is a deep ikebo named Homura, which apparently is popular both among other members and among her viewers for how cool and how well she can perform the voice.
Similar to fellow 3rd Generation member, Flare often does a drinking chat stream, which is similar to a regular chat stream with the difference being that Flare is drinking alcohol alongside chatting. These streams usually ends up taking quite sometime with Flare being quite tipsy as she usually pick drinks that can pack a punch, in addition to Flare being quite naturally talkative.
Aside from the three mentioned before, Flare have also done a few movie-watch along (either solo or as collab), and have on some occasion done an art stream [citation needed]. While not displayed very often, Flare have an impressive skill in the art department, which can be seen in the few art streams she has done both solo and in collabs, and in also in the few drawings of her she's posted on twitter. [9]
Flare is part of the Onee-san Gumi (お姉さん組) along with fellow 3rd Generation Shirogane Noel and Houshou Marine, and together with Shirakami Fubuki and Tsunomaki Watame make up the trio named Bakatare.
Her representative emote is a burning fire, because of her first name.
Personality
Flare can be called the definite cool big sister of Hololive Fantasy (or sometime, even the whole Hololive!) due to her cool and mature personality. Flare acts in a very calm and collected manner, rarely losing herself to frustration or rage on stream, most visible when comparing her playthrough of some of the more stressful games such as Getting Over It or even Dark Souls to that of the other girls.
Flare is also very understanding and dependable, and it is not rare that others look up to her. On instance is when she played Getting Over it to accompany Noel in her endurance stream. After being informed that Noel lost a lot of progress, she called Noel to comfort her as well as joke a bit to cheer her up.[10] After Noel finished the game, she closed her game shortly after to congratulate Noel.
This is not to say that Flare is all calm and cool however, as she is also a very playful person and can act quite cutely at times. This is most evident in her ARK and zatsudan stream, where she will very often just suddenly launch into gags and/or skits out of nowhere. She also often have a very varied setlist of her karaoke which often includes funny and silly song, which reflects herself well. Flare have also on occasion take a cute jealous act regarding her listeners behavior, even on one time being "jealous" towards Homura (the name given to her ikebo) [citation needed]. She is also a part of the Bakatare trio, which is one of the silliest trio of fun.
Additionally Flare can also have a very formal and polite manner on occasion, often visible when interacting with new people, especially for individuals outside hololive (including other VTubers). She also does a little bow whenever reading and/or thanking Superchat, which she does in a cute and formal-like manner.
