Overview[edit]
Blue Journey is a musical project created in collaboration between Hololive Production and Universal Music Japan's subsidiary EMI Records Japan as the first project of their newly established joint-label holo-n. The project was announced at the end of HoloFes 4 Our Bright Parade on March 19th 2023. As part of the initial promotion, a series of three consecutive singles was released over the span of 3 months with songs meant to explore the listener's feelings and invoke a moment of introspection.
The first original single for the project featured Minato Aqua, Houshou Marine, and Tsunomaki Watame. The second single features Sakura Miko, Houshou Marine, and Omaru Polka. The third single for the project featured Minato Aqua, Amane Kanata, and Yukihana Lamy. A fourth single, astro, was released on July 17th and featured Nekomata Okayu, Shirogane Noel, Amane Kanata.[1] On July 7th 2023, Cover announced that Blue Journey would be releasing an album titled Yoake no Uta (Song of the Dawn) [2] The concert of the same name was also announced for September 13, 2023. After the concert, Blue Project's group song Mizutamari, which was not included in the initial Yoake no Uta album, was released as a single and as an EP containing various versions including the live version performed at the concert.
The project officially ended on March 20th, 2024 on its 1-year anniversary.[3]
Concert[edit]
Yoake no Uta is the name of both Blue Journey's only album and its live concert. Unlike most of Hololive previous concerts, Yoake no Uta focused almost entirely on the songs with performances directly led into each other with only a brief thematically relevant monologues in between resulted in a short show lasting a little over one hour in length. The concert ended with Mizutamari as the bookend group song
Participants[edit]
Note that all Blue Journey participants are not sign-up as a part of the holo-n themselves and are only temporarily recruited for this project.

Trivia[edit]
- A cosplayer wearing the Blue Journey costume can be seen walking the expo ground during HoloExpo 2023 prior to the project announcement at the end of 4th Fes a day later.[4] She was mentioned in a member-only stream on the official Hololive channel prior to the event which teased the existence of the then secret project. The cosplayer served as a teaser for the outfit which wouldn't be revealed until a few months later.[5]
- Despite its name, Blue Journey primary color (used in its website, promo image and Mizutamari cover art) is more of a pinkish purple rather than blue.
