The following page contains a non exhaustive list of units (grouping) of Hololive and Holostars.

Units[edit]

The term "unit" in the context of Japanese Idol Culture is used to describe a specific grouping of members of an Idol group typically for a song. Within the Hololive Production, units refers to a combination of members that have done regular activity with each others. or are assembled by the agency for specific purpose. Units can mean a duo (Micomet: Miko & Suisei), a gaming group (Shiraken: Flare, Polka, Noel, Miko, & Suisei), a themed group (HoloTori/Holobird: Kiara, Subaru, Mumei, Reine, & Lui) or up to an entire generation such as Hololive English -Myth-

Generation[edit]

Generations are the most basic unit a member can be in and are the most well-known unit for any fan.

Minecraft Groups[edit]

Minecrafts persistence server, long running history and multiplayer capability has allowed large group collabs to form within Hololive various servers. Some of these collabs created long friendship which continues to today.

Usada Constructions[edit]

  • Core: Usada Pekora (Leader), Moona Hoshinova;
  • Members: Kiryu Coco, Uruha Rushia, Tokoyami Towa, Takanashi Kiara, Amane Kanata(part-timer/spy)

A Minecraft group founded by Pekora for her project. It became a group after Pekora recruited Moona who became the vice-president. During the Minecraft craze, other members would join the group.

Akukin Construction[edit]

  • Core: Minato Aqua (Leader), Houshou Marine, Ookami Mio;
  • Members: Yozora Mel, Aki Rosenthal, Yuzuki Choco, Shiranui Flare, Airani Iofifteen, Momosuzu Nene, Yukihana Lamy, Amane Kanata(part-timer/spy)

A Minecraft group founded by Aqua, Marine and Mio. Originally founded as a solo group to replaced Aqua's Hololive Resistance which was destroyed by Sora in the first Hololive Minecraft server, Aqua would later recruited her frequent collab partner Marine into it. They were joined by Mio to help organized their activities. The group is now considered disbanded under the pretext of the company going bankrupt with its many problems, such as making the employees work 24/7 without pay, flooding the server with raw cod and the CEO running away, as explained by Aqua after going a full year without streaming Minecraft.[1]

Dorobo Construction[edit]

Shiranui Constructions[edit]

  • Shiranui Flare, Omaru Polka, Hoshimachi Suisei, Sakura Miko, Shirogane Noel)

Initially started as a Minecraft group started by Flare and Polka, the group was joined by MiComet and Noel later on. The group have collabed beyond Minecraft and is officially recognized as an official unit at the Splash Party concert. The group also released its own ongoing manga and group song.

  • Amane Kanata (Leader), AZKi, Sakamata Chloe

Unit with 5+ members[edit]

  • Hololive Production English - The term coined by Cover for the grouping consisting of their two English speaking branches Hololive English and Holostars English. Despite its name, there is no official organization of that name within the company's hierarchy.
  • Hoshimatic Project - (Creator: Hoshimachi Suisei; Team A: Tokino Sora, Aki Rosenthal, Natsuiro Matsuri, Momosuzu Nene, Hakui Koyori; Team B: Oozora Subaru, Tokoyami Towa, Sakamata Chloe, Kazama Iroha) - A group created by Suisei for her Hoshimatic Project dance program. The project consisted of a series of dance lesson streams culminating in the members showing off their performance at the 2023/2024 Countdown Live.
  • OKFAMS (Nekomata Okayu, Inugami Korone, Shirakami Fubuki, Nakiri Ayame, Ookami Mio, Oozora Subaru) - A general stream group featuring a mixed of Gamers and Gen 2. Is the combined form of the group SMOK and FAMS.
    • SMOK (Oozora Subaru, Ookami Mio, Nekomata Okayu, Inugami Korone)
    • FAMS (Shirakami Fubuki, Nakiri Ayame, Ookami Mio, Oozora Subaru)
  • Star Animal (Oozora Subaru, Tokino Sora, Hoshimachi Suisei, Omaru Polka, Hakui Koyori, Sakamata Chloe) - A group consisted of members from Subaru's team in the 2022 Golden Week Game competition. The name came from the very loose link (star motif and animal girls).
  • Pizza Family (Arurandeisu, Ichijou Ririka, Hiodoshi Ao, Reimu Endou (Nijisanji English), Meloco Kyoran (Nijisanji English), Konkon Aria (Neo-Porte), URS Toko (indie), dtto. (REJECT), Maitake (Chococlate Rabbit) - A mixed-agency collab formed during the 2nd VCR GTA Server opening.

Unit with 5 members[edit]

  • ALICE (Tokino Sora, Houshou Marine, Shiranui Flare, Hoshimachi Suisei, Amane Kanata) - A singing group created for an unknown project 2020. Released a group cover.
  • Holotori/Holobirds (Takanashi Kiara, Oozora Subaru, Nanashi Mumei, Pavolia Reine, Takane Lui) - A fan grouping based on the members' bird themed lore and gaslighting. Officially formed into an official unit with their original song of the same name for Splash Party.
  • UMISEA (Original: Minato Aqua, Houshou Marine, Ninomae Ina'nis, Gawr Gura; Later: Sakamata Chloe) - A ocean-theme mixed-langauge singing unit created by Cover. Originally consisted of Aqua, Marine, Ina and Gura, Chloe was later added into the lineup likely to enabled to do more collaboration events in Japan without the EN members.

Unit with 4 members[edit]

  • Kira Kira Family (Arurandeisu, Aragami Oga, Airani Iofifteen, Ayunda Risu) - A Live-Star unit formed by the aforementioned members.
  • SubaChocoLunaTan (Oozora Subaru, Yuzuki Choco, Himemori Luna, Shishiro Botan) - A collab group formed by the aformentioned members. According to Choco, the group was originally meant to just be Subaru and Luna but with Choco as a tag-along to observed the pair but Choco would be sucked along eventually forming the initial SubaChocoLuna unit. They were later join by Botan creating SubaChocoLunaTan.
    • SubaChocoLuna (Oozora Subaru, Yuzuki Choco, Himemori Luna) - The smaller predecessor of SubaChocoLunaTan. Was made into an official unit for Splash Party
  • Star Flower (AZKi, Hoshimachi Suisei, Moona Hoshinova, IRyS) - The unit created to sing the 2nd PV song, Story Time, for Hololive Alternative consisting of notable singers from all then current branches of Hololive.

Unit with 3 members[edit]

  • Bakatare (Shirakami Fubuki, Shiranui Flare, Tsunomaki Watame) - A gaming group consisting of the aformention members. Its name, meaning "The Three Stooges", is a reflection of their group dynamic.
    • Bakatare Circus (Shirakami Fubuki, Shiranui Flare, Tsunomaki Watame, Omaru Polka) - A variant of Bakatare when join by Polka.
  • CHAD (Mori Calliope, IRyS, Hakos Baelz) - Stands for Chaos, Hope and Death. Founded as part of a podcast program by the three aformentioned members. Was made into an official singing unit for Splash Party.
  • Irohanihoheto AyaFubuMi (Nakiri Ayame, Shirakami Fubuki, Ookami Mio) - A Fantasy Japan themed singing group. Consisted of member who originally sang Hyakka Ryoran Hanafubuki.
  • Majingumi(Minato Aqua, Murasaki Shion, Nakiri Ayame) - A gaming group formed during the early days of Hololive.
  • NEGI☆U (Oozora Subaru, Minato Aqua, Momosuzu Nene) - A singing unit brought together to sing the ending for the anime The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!.
  • Spice Love (Minato Aqua, Oozora Subaru, Usada Pekora) - A singing unit brought together to sing the advertisement song for Nisshin's Curry Messhi instant curry cup. The song was later rewritten and released as Hacha-Mecha Miracle.
  • StartEnd (Tokoyami Towa, Minato Aqua, Hoshimachi Suisei) - A group originally formed for the ShibuyaHAL's VSaikyou Tournament #4. Consisting of Towa as team leader with Aqua and Suisei as member. The three have continued to collab as group after the tournament conclusion.

  • MeltyKiss (Yuzuki Choco, Yozora Mel)
  • Micomet (Sakura Miko, Hoshimachi Suisei) - Created by Cover for VARK's Cinderella Switch VR concert, became closer due to regular collab over the years.[2]
  • Orio (Amane Kanata, Tokoyami Towa) - Created by Hololive as a singing unit.
  • PekoMiko (Usada Pekora, Sakura Miko)
  • SorAZ (Tokino Sora, AZKi)
