Shiranui Construction (不知火建設, Shiranui Kensetsu) or Shiraken for short is a subunit within hololive consisting of Shiranui Flare, Omaru Polka, Hoshimachi Suisei, Sakura Miko and Shirogane Noel. The unit began as one of the Hololive Minecraft Server's many "construction company" before transitioning into a general streaming group that plays a variety of different games together. The group has since gone on to become an official unit with a manga and original group songs.
The subunit initially began through a series of Minecraft streams where the talents formed "Construction companies" to work together and build a number of structures on the Hololive Japanese server. The subunit was unofficial like the other kensetsu until they gained their own official Twitter (now X) account on August 2022, where they became the only subunit to have a separate social account as of 2023.[1]
Shiranai Koto Kenkyūkai (しらないこと研究会, The Research Society for Things We Don't Know), officially localized as Shiraken Scholar Society, is an ongoing manga by mangaka Tsumumi (Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody: Kōfukukyoku, Welcome to the Outcast's Restaurant!) based on a concept by Shiraken. The story follow the slice-of-life adventure of six highschoolers based on Shiraken members. The manga itself is published as a voiced animated manga by various Shiraken members on their channel with the first episode posted on Flare channel on November 11th 2022 with full English subtitles. It was later serialized in Weekly Shōnen Champion in January 1st 2024.[2]
