Holoearth (stylized as Holoe△rth and HOLOEARTH) is a upcoming metaverse video game developed by Cover as one of the projects within Hololive Alternative. It is planned to release in 2024.[1]

Development[edit]

In October 2021, Holoearth was announced as one of the projects within Hololive Alternative.[2][3] A gameplay demo video was released on November 23, 2021.[4] The game is composed of 3 components: a sandbox game, a lobby system, and an avatar creation system.[3] English localization for the game is planned.[5][6]

A limited test of the lobby system on Windows was slated for March 14, 2022.[7] Japanese language registration for the test launch opened on March 11, 2022.[8] The test launch was comprised of the lobby system and ran from March 11, 2022 to April 6, 2022.[9] On November 24, 2022, the lobby system was released into beta.[10][11]

A "Simulation Room" is planned to be added in mid-December 2023 to test various game features including a early version of the Avatar Creator.[12]

Concerts[edit]

On December 26, 2022, a concert was held as a test for Holoearth infrastructure. The concert Protolive featured performances from Mori Calliope and AZKi.[13][14] A sequel concert, Protolive #2 〜Yamato Phantasia〜 is scheduled for July 15, 2023. The theme of Protolive 2 is the nation of Yamato, the Japan-inspired setting of the manga Yamato Phantasia. Featured artists include Shirakami Fubuki, Sakura Miko, Nakiri Ayame, and Ookami Mio.[15]
