Kay Yu is an American animator and video game developer. He is well known within the Hololive community as the developer of the Hololive fan game HoloCure.

Kay Yu is an American animator and video game developer best known within the Hololive Community as the developer of HoloCure.
Kay has worked on multiple animes including Sword Art Online, One Piece and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.[3]
History[edit]
Kay Yu was born in 1993 somewhere in rural China.[4] Eventually he and his parents moved to the United States, giving up his Chinese Citizenship to obtain American Citizenship.[5]
In 2005 when Kay was a kid he found a game engine called Game Maker and developed a interest in video game development, He also started learning animation on his own due to wanting to become a video game developer.[6]
Kay created his YouTube account on December 13, 2012.
Kay created his Twitter account in December 2015.
Involvement in Hololive[edit]
Kay was the animator of Calliope Mori's and Gawr Gura's original song, Q.
HoloCure Development was started by Kay around late February 2022.[7] HoloCure released to the public on June 24, 2022 after a period of closed beta, It included all members of Hololive English at the time.[a][8]
Kay stated that he wants to keep HoloCure strictly a passion project.[9]
Kay created another account in April 2023, Saying that it was due to him wanting his main account to act like a art portfolio.[10]
HoloCure 0.6 released on Steam and Itch.io on August 17th, 2023.
The official HoloCure Twitter account announced a new game on March 1st, 2024, Holo X Break.[b] Unlike HoloCure, Holo X Break is published under holo Indie.
Kay produced the Our Promise animated MV.[11]
On January 14, 2025 Kay announced he was working a unnamed game that was early in development[12] code named project exodus featuring Hololive English Advent and Justice.[13] It is not a RPG.[14]
