Lyrics[edit]

「Aメロ」

(fecel, lemienne, phei, seire, lilutia, ei finceq)

「Aメロ」

「Aメロ」
花が寝る夜 波に映った星
光った月が消えてゆく

「ラストサビ」
指先でゆらゆらとその動きが
止まった時計の針に 踏み込んだ
雲が描いた列車そよぐ髪
その笑顔を
知ってるよ

[Verse 1]
As the flowers rest, and the waves reflect the stars above
The waxing moon incites my wanderlust
If I trace its trickles of light
Will I come to you like you asked me to?

[Pre-Chorus]
Even with all the handholding and tight embraces
The sky will still turn red, and the leaves will still fall

[Chorus]
My fingers reach in longingly
To get the clock ticking once again
With my wishes frozen in time and long forgotten
Your fleeting smile
Is all I know

[Interlude]
(fecel, lemienne, phei, seire, lilutia, ei finceq)

[Verse 2]
As the moonlight dances on the waves, and my eyes reflect the sky above
A pleasant scent tickles my fancy
If I walk in step with the wafting breeze
Will I be able to go back to you when you only had eyes for me?

[Pre-Chorus]
Even if I let you hold my hand and lead me forever
The sky would still well, and the rain would still fall

[Chorus]
My silent voice calls out your name longingly
To return luster to my faded paints
With my voice hoarse and long ran dry
Your fleeting words
Are all I know

[Bridge]
Do you still remember
What you showed me
A glimpse of happiness, gone forever

[Verse 3]
As the flowers rest, and the waves reflect the stars above
The waning moon vanishes into the dark

[Chorus]
My fingers reach in longingly
To get the clock ticking once again
With the clouds forming a track from me to you, and the wind rustling my hair
Your fleeting smile
Is all I know

History[edit]

2021[edit]

  • May 21 Teaser PV revealed[3]

  • Aug. 06 Digital release date[1]
  • Aug. 14 Music video reached 1 million views on YouTube[4]

Trivia[edit]

  • "VIOLET" is the only Hololive original song whose vocalist also did the illustrations for the song's music video.
  • The numbers flashed in the music video (403, 520, 913, 1016, and 1129) hold significance to the people who worked on it. For Ina, 520 and 913 refer to her birthday and debut date respectively.[5]
  • The whispered words during the song's interlude, "fecel, lemienne, phei, seire, lilutia, ei finceq", are in a language invented by LUMINA. According to Ina, the words mean, "scars, fireflies, empty, music, sounds, and childhood".[5]
  • Counting the number of letters in fecel, lemienne, phei, seire, lilutia, and finceq and concatenating them into an RGB hex code yields #584576, a shade of violet. However, Ina has stated that this is merely a coincidence.[5]
  • Ina performed VIOLET during Link Your Wish Day 1.
  • The "monologues" are English translations of scripture from the Holy Bible. "403" is Proverbs 10:12, "520" is Job 23: 10, "913" is Matthew 11:28, "1016" is 1 Corinthians 13:13 (the conclusion of the description of "Agape" or the Greek word for the highest and most perfect form of Love), and "1129" is 1 Timothy 6:7.
