On referring to retired members

Is it okay to use the past tense when referring to retired idols?

Example:

Uruha Rushia (潤羽るしあ) is a necromancer-in-training and a former member of the Hololive 3rd Generation of VTubers. She is a well-mannered and introverted girl who always strives to keep her fans entertained, even at her own expense.
She enjoys playing a wide genre of games, ranging from social simulation games, to shooting games, to horror games. She especially finds the Resident Evil/Biohazard series to be the most fun. Rushia is sensitive about her small breast size and gets teased about it often by other streamers and her viewers.
Her representative emote is a butterfly, because of the butterfly imagery on her dress.

So, this is something that the wiki editing community reached a consensus on last year right after Coco's graduation. We decided against using past tense of "is", because it implies that the subject has passed away. Instead, using "is" with "former" is our agreed-upon approach. Hepburn transliteration for all names in Japanese

I noticed that many Japanese names for Hololive members lack something that I, and guys from Wikipedia dubbed as "transliteration". This is very crucial for wikis whose pages contain a handful of Japanese words (written in Japanese, of course).

According to Wikipedia:

Wikipedia uses the version of Modified Hepburn described below because it is generally accepted by scholars and it gives a fair indication of Japanese pronunciation to the intended audience of English speakers. People who care about other romanisation systems are knowledgeable enough to look after themselves.

Even Fandom wikis like Kamen Rider Wiki and Ultraman Wiki often transliterate a plethora of words, ideas, names transcribed in Japanese. And maybe we should, too, starting with names.
