Line Breaks

Initially (April 2023 ver), Romaji script had more line breaks than Japanese script.

Romaji with more line breaks looks neat because it has higher readability and you can distinguish the different parts of the song better.

Japanese with fewer line breaks looks neat because it is more compact.

This caused two problems: 1) When switching between Japanese/Romaji/English the lines did not align. 2) I'm not sure about this one, but when I was checking the page today (in Chrome), for some reason Romaji was cut off at the bottom. Which was weird because I don't remember that being the case before and I'm sure I would have noticed. I checked it in Opera, too, and it was cut off as well. But as soon as I finished my edit just now to adjust the Romaji line breaks, this was no longer the case, even though the change wasn't approved yet. Both Chrome and Opera don't have cut-off Romaji anymore.

Anyway, I decided to adjust Romaji line breaks to match Japanese. For better readability I wanted to add more space between the joined lines. But it auto-corrects double spaces to one space, so I used Japanese spaces instead, which probably isn't optimal.

Maybe it's better to add more line breaks to the Japanese script and match it to the previous Romaji layout, but I'm not sure. I guess it's fine either way. Aryath (talk) 22:27, 25 August 2024 (JST)
