Introduction Video[edit]
Her introduction video has been made private. Shown above instead is a featured video in her channel.
Official Bio[edit]
"Sweet bites! It's Yozora Mel, the Underworld's vampire prodigy!"
A vampire prodigy from the Underworld. She might be a vampire, but she is not into blood. She likes her acerola juice quite a lot.
Overview[edit]
Yozora Mel was a vampire, member of Hololive 1st Generation. Her debut was on May 13th, 2018.[11] Despite being a vampire, she does not like blood and will instead drink Acerola juice. Her representative emote is a star due to her last name "Yozora", which translates to "night sky"
Personality[edit]
Yozora Mel was an individual with a calming, caring and sweet personality. Her calm voice and demeanor made her quite relaxing to watch, as she rarely tended to shout or scream excessively even in the face of unexpected events. She was known to sometimes act lewdly, however, especially in collaboration streams with close friend Yuzuki Choco, belying her overall innocent and sweet demeanor. [12][13]
In addition to her usual soft and charming speaking voice, Mel boasted a wide vocal range, which was further highlighted by her improvisational role-playing skills. A voice acting enthusiast, Mel would most notably employ her skills on her fan-favorite ASMR streams[14][15] and live singing performances[16][17]. Mel would also host the MelMel Theater[18] on her weekly morning streams, in which she would act out viewer submited scenarios, her male impersonation, Melt-kun, becoming a recurring character on her streams.
A much more casual gamer, Mel preferred games she could play at her own pace, opting for longer and easygoing streams where she could take her time talking with her Kapu-min, often dedicating entire portions of regular gaming streams to just chatting. While not excelling at competitive games, she would still take part in collabs and events regardless, an attitude which fans often described as "Mel, doing her best!".
Mel was noted to be very friendly and welcoming of other Hololive talents, regardless of generation or branch. In spite of the occasional language barrier, she would notably bond with EN and ID members as well, whom she'd often have outings and off-collabs with.[19][20][21]

Hiatus[edit]
Between December of 2019 and June 24th, 2020, Mel streamed very infrequently and only uploaded a a few song covers on her channel. On May 16th 2020, Mel announced on Twitter she had been a victim of a serious harassment campaign through numerous throwaway accounts on Twitter and emails since October of 2019.[43] These messages contained malicious and sexual harassment directed specifically at her by name. While initially blocking the accounts, the harassment did not stop, the accounts kept increasing in number to the point where she could no longer keep up with blocking them all, causing her a great deal of stress. On Oct 31st she received an harassment e-mail that contained the sender's name. Recognizing the name, she immediately contacted the police and Cover CEO Motoaki Tanigou as well as other appropriate staff at Cover Corp. The police advised her not to go to the Hololive Studio for her upcoming 3D stream and it was announced Mel was "feeling unwell". At this time, a friend helped her get in contact with a lawyer and with their help, they were able to extract an admission from the culprit to being the one engaging in harassment on Mel's e-mail and Twitter. As of March 2020, the harassment from the individual has stopped and things moved towards a resolution. After Mel's public statement on May 16th,[44][45] described the situation in detail, in hopes that no other Hololive member would have to go through what she experienced, Cover Corp. would later make a statement of their own[46] apologizing for their mishandling of the situation, stating that they would pay for Mel's legal fees and cost of relocation and apologizing for coercing Mel to continue streaming despite the current situation.
Termination[edit]
On January 16, 2024, Cover announced the termination of their contract with Mel due to leaking of information to third parties.[47] A statement from Mel was posted by management on her Twitter account on the same day.[48]
Streaming Information[edit]
Fans[edit]
She officially calls her fans "Kapu-min" (かぷ民), which roughly translates to "Kapu-people". Kapu being to onomatopoeia for biting.
